5 Most Favorite Holiday Cookie Recipes

Best time of the year where baking is a “most” instead of “should” I. I am not a baker by any stretch of   the imagination. Love cooking, playing with flavors therefore I can let my imagination go. I make a mistake I can correct it. In baking… Well that is an art form that has no mercy and you must be accurate or you can go from a soft as an angel hair cake to an hockey puck in within seconds.

Throughout the years, I have, however, perfected a few dessert recipes that I have shared on Giangi’s Kitchen. I do want today share my 5 most favorite with all of you here that are perfect for this holiday season.

Canestreletti

My grandmother favorite Christmas cookies. Actually they were my grandfather favorite and my grandmother always prepared them for him for Christmas. Of course my mother carried the tradition that was passed down to me.

Butter Cookies

Butter Cookies….. a must try. Delicate and full of flavor.   Watch out they seem to disappear when left unattended.

Oatmeal Forest Berried Thumbprints Cookies

Oatmeal Forest Berries Thumbprints Cookies

The original recipe is made with walnut, which I am allergic to, thus replacing them with almond. I also let cookie dough rest for 15 to 30 minutes. We could feel the difference in the consistency  on 2nd and third batch. The oat had the opportunity to soften and were not so  predominant when biting into. Great if you have little one that the word “oat” sends them  into panic mode  as it is not sweets but healthy sweets. Two different words as you can imagine.

Chilean Cocadas

My dad favorite dessert. My dad not only love them, he made sure he always had some stashed in the house and Sunday morning some always found their way home from the Market.

Cardamom Snickerdoodle

Cardamom Snickerdoodle

Something new to your favorite snickerdoodle: cardamom. I was introduced a while ago to cardamom and feel in love with it.   Now I try to use it at any opportunity that comes along. If you like the classic snickerdoodles,   you definitely will love this recipe.

Enjoy those 5 favorite cookies of mine.

Enjoy!!
