Are you living your life to the fullest?

“We only live once” a popular saying that means we should cherish life as much as we can. There can be challenges that may come in your life, but we should always remember the positive side of it. Do not waste the life that was given to you.

Here are ways on living your life to the fullest:

Experience what you want to do

Do you have something that you really want to do? Do you like to go on a vacation or experience different things? Are you an adrenaline junkie and enjoying to the fullest all the adventures that present themselves to you?

Create a bucket list of things that you want to do. Check them off when they are achieved. It can be going to a particular place, attending workshops, create vlogs, or start writing… the possibilities are endless.

You should live and enjoy life as much as you can.

Set life goals and achieve them

Do you have something that you like to achieve? I know this is so vast and we all are a different stages of our life. And no goal is too small or too large.

Write your goals in a notebook. You can set your goals by the week, month, or year. Work for these goals. Make sure to look back and see the progress you have made.

I have a great calendar that allows me to do so. A manual, yes, I am still the old fashion way. However, it allows me to have monthly goals and subdivide them by weeks. At month end I go back over and see what I have accomplished. You will be amazed.

I may add to that, I divide the year in two and set goals for the first six months. Each month you work towards those goals. Truly amazing what happens once your goals are written.

Stop saying “I wish” instead say “I will”

Do you admire people who achieved their dreams? Do you wish it was you in their shoes? Sometimes, we may feel insecurities in ourselves that we wish we had someone else life.

Remember that all people work hard to be in the place they are in right now. Famous celebrities did not do it easily, they worked hard for it. Hard work coupled with rolling up of your sleeves and putting your head down to fully commit to your task on hand.

Do not say “I wish I had their life”. Instead, say “I will work hard to achieve my goals.” Every time you start with a negative, and to me “I wish” is a negative connotation, you are placing a mental block to your goals and stopping yourself from living your life to the fullest. Stop wishing your life away.

Do what you love

Do not let people control your decisions in life. Doing things that you do not love may result to sadness and confusion. Even bitterness.

Do not choose your path based on the expectations set by people around you. Just because your parents might say that you have to study the course that they wanted you to get, does not mean you have to follow them. You have to be happy. The happiness of living your life is a fantastic feeling that once experienced you will never go back allowing others’ expectations to prevail.

All my life I allowed others to influence my decisions. Was pushed into situations that I did not foresee right for me. Because I did not want to upset anyone I let others control me. Once I broke that chain I felt a surge of happiness. The first time that the decision was all mine it felt absolutely exhilarating. Never looked back and definitely chose to break the chain that was set up for my life.

Stop hesitating and try

Have you encountered a moment where you told yourself “I wish I took that chance” and “I wish I’ve tried”?

Opportunities are missed because of our hesitation in ourselves. There might be some factors that may affect your decisions, such as having no confidence to do those things, but you should always try. There is nothing wrong with trying. Quite the opposite. Who knows, maybe this can be your greatest turning point in life? We learn from our failures. Each failure is a pearl of advice that should be cherished.

Cherish the people in your life

Love the people in your life now. Spend time with them. Make memories. Love to the fullest. If a friendship comes to an end, know in your heart of hearts that you give it your hundred percent and you have no regrets.

  1. I LOVE this. So many times in the past few years I’d said “I wish” to a number of things. The pandemic made me change a few of those to “I wills”. I won’t deny it’s scary to embrace change, but I’m SO happy I did it. Thank you for this post!
